TIP : I like to use a 1 gallon ziplock freezer back to hold the fluid.
NOTE : Locate the bleeder valve on the stat for step 5
1. Get the freezer bag into place below the tstat
2. Break the 2 bolts loose and turn out about 1/3 the way.
3. Wiggle the radiator hose so it breaks the stat housing loose and it will dump about a quart of fluid out (catch this in the freezer bag)
4. Once the fluid stops coming out, finish removing the 2 bolts and slide the housing and hose to the side.
5. Get the new stat ready. Orient it so the bleeder hole is at the 12 O'Clock position. Notice the direction it goes (spring goes in the engine block)
6. Using a screw driver, pop out the old stat and quickly push the new one into place. A few ounces of fluid will rush out so do this part quickly.
7. Put the stat/hose back into position and install the bolts.
8. Pour the fluid in the freezer bag back into your radiator overflow tank.
